Compute projects at FIU:

ACCESS-CONECT

ACCESS is the Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support (ACCESS) program at NSF. The program announcement is available here. Awards information for the ACCESS program and the list of awardee teams are here.
CONECT is COre National Ecosystem for CyberinfrasTructure. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is the awardee. The award abstract for CONECT is here.

RAPTOR

RAPTOR is Reconfigurable Advanced Platform for Transdisciplinary Open Research at FIU. For more information about RAPTOR, visit the project website here. RAPTOR is project funded from the NSF Campus Cyberinfrastructure (CC*) program. RAPTOR is led by the KFSCIS, with CIARA, and the Division of IT.
RAPTOR enables access to two compute frameworks: the Open Science Grid (OSG) and the Chameleon experimental platform.

PATh

FIU is a sub-awardee of the Partnership to Advance Throughput Computing (PATh) project. A PATh compute cluster is hosted at the AMPATH International Exchange Point. The PATh cluster at AMPATH is an available resource for the FIU community. For more information on PATh, visit the project website here. An introduction to the PATh facility can be found here.

FABRIC

FABRIC is Adaptive ProgrammaBle Research Infrastructure for Computer Science and Science Applications. KFSCIS, CIARA, and the Division of IT have an award from FABRIC. The award includes hosting a FABRIC node at FIU. The FIU FABRIC node is connected to the FIU campus network, the AMPATH International Exchange Point, and the AmLight network, where it will serve Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa.

National Research Platform and Gen4 Node

The National Research Platform (NRP) (NationalResearchPlatform.org) is a partnership of more than 50 institutions, led by researchers and cyberinfrastucture professionals at UC San Diego. NRP is the name of the set of programs, facilities, and policies that are designed for distributed growth and expansion. NRP’s primary computation, storage, and network resource is a ~300 node distributed cluster called Nautilus. Nautilus hosts many network testing data transfer nodes including ones used by the Open Science Grid (OSG). FIU hosts a 100G Nautilus node at the AMPATH International Exchange Point. More information about the NRP can be found here.
